{{ me too <: }}
Slightpaw blinked, considering. She wasn't as skilled at fighting as she was hunting, considering it required much more agility. "Battle training," she decided with a nod. It would be good to work on those skills - who knew when she'd have to use them?

Saberstar purred. "Well then, this way." he walked the little apprentice out of the camp at her side. When they had reached where they needed to be, he turned around to face her and narrowed his eyes. "We'll start with some basics first to refresh your mind, and work from there."

{{ sorry for not responding sooner - I slept for like 16 hours last night cx }}
Slightpaw nodded carefully. So far, not many accommodations had needed to be made for her twisted front paw, and she didn't want them to be, but she had seen some of the older apprentices practicing and she knew she'd have to work harder than them to maneuver like that. She turned to face Saberstar, her weight carefully placed a little more on her left side than her right as she lowered into a defensive crouch. "Ready whenever you are."

[That's alright-- sleep is good. x3 I didn't get much last night because Baby was running around like a crazy furball and exploring her new cat tree in my room.]
"I want you to demonstrate the front paw swipe with both of your paws first so that we can strengthen that one of yours." He nodded towards her twisted paw. He felt sorry for the little apprentice that she had to deal with an injury like that at such a young age, and so he wanted to make her feel comfortable using it as much as possible sooner than later. It would make training easier to when they moved onto more complex techniques.

{{ awh }}
The cream cat nodded. It was actually easier for her to use her right paw, as she could lean her weight on the one that wasn't twisted and just angle her claws differently. She chose to do that first, aiming for Saberstar but making sure not to hit him and to keep her claws sheathed. She shifted her weight to the other side a little uncertainly, but managed to do the same motion with her stronger paw, using her back legs for additional support.

"Well done!" Saberstar praised her. He let her practice a few more swipes on each side. "Let's see how you manage the leap-and-hold." This was a move that was perfect to practice now, as it was used by smaller cats who were up against larger-sized opponents.
