Bluepaw had nipped off the borage leaves as instructed and then followed after Mallowbreeze. Catmint was a rarity. The apprentice could only hope that the spot in which Mallowbreeze found it would yield plenty more come new-leaf. Greencough is a very serious illness, it had been the very thing that killed her own mother. She could barely contain her excitement upon seeing it. She drank in its scent, watching with awe as Mallowbreeze plucked a small amount of the herb. As they headed back into camp, Bluepaw could not keep the amazement from her gray eyes, which were practically glowing with happiness. She knew that LilyClan needed warriors, but this was the path for the small she-cat to walk. She sat aside as Brightpath spoke to Mallowbreeze, informing her about the mysterious dream. Bluepaw kept her thoughts to herself, as it really wouldn't be her place to talk about things she hardly knew about. However, it did perplex her, the thought of StarClan coming to speak with Brightpath enthralled her. Could there be a prophecy about one of her Clanmates?

Bluepaw looked up at her mentor. She was half relieved, half concerned that she wasn't the only one who had been confused by Brightpath's dreams. "It has to, otherwise it wouldn't come to a LilyClan warrior, but what could it mean... Stars fading into sparks..." She shook her head. "It's too confusing to say, now. We have to wait for Brightpath to have more dreams before we can conclude what it means. I wonder what a former Clan leader is doing with Cherryleaf, though? YarrowClan, she said? Maybe at the next half-moon or gathering we can ask YarrowClan's medicine cat if there have been any similar dreams reported."

Bluepaw definitely wanted to find out what the prophecy had meant now. It was a puzzle with many missing pieces that she would never be able to complete. Naturally, this frustrated the apprentice. Her mind could not focus on anything else. "We're also close to the starkstone. Perhaps we can just go there and get the answers directly from StarClan?" Bluepaw suggested, twitching her ears. The she-cat definitely wanted to go, she was practically prancing on her paws at the thought. However, the Clan definitely would need their medicine cats nearby, even one as inexperienced as Bluepaw.

Bluepaw thought on this. Her whiskers twitched until she finally nodded. "If one of us should go, who should it be? I know only the basics here, so if an emergency were to happen I don't know if I'd be able to handle it by myself..." The she-cat kneaded her paws in the dirt. But could she really handle going to the starkstone by herself, either? Would StarClan even choose to communicate with an inexperienced apprentice?

Sorry to report that I will be gone starting nxt week for two weeks. I'll miss you guys. Anyway the deputy announcement:

Daffodilstar leaped onto highrock. The decision was made. "Let all cats gather around highrock to hear what I have to say!" She paused for a moment and waited for the Clan to gather. "It is time, that I have a deputy. Sparrowleap, do you accept the role?"

Bluepaw nodded her head rapidly, eyes sparkling. The embarrassment washed over again when she remembered that her mentor was blind. Would she ever get used to that? "Yes! Yes, I'll go. I won't let you down." She meowed, bringing herself to her paws. She emitted an aura of determination, puffing her fluffy chest out with pride. She was going to speak with StarClan... And nothing could make the apprentice happier.

Sparrowleap's eyes sparkled excitedly as she rapidly nodded over and over. "Thank you. I won't let you down." She promised. "Just a warning, , err... Might mess up sometimes when assigning patrols." She purred with a small shuffle of her paws. "I'm not the best at that. Anyways, see you around, Daffodilstar." The new deputy mewed briskly, turning around and about to pad away.

"Alright." Mallowbreeze replied. "Who would you like to take with you?" She asked, looking out of the den entrance, or at least where she thought it was. "I can choose if you don't want to." She added, thinking about who would be most willing to go. Hmm... the clan was a bit low on warriors but surely one would want to accompany Bluepaw. There could be risks if she went alone, risks not worth taking.

"Thank goodness." Sparrowleap said, smiling. She then padded away, shaking her fur off and then sitting down to groom herself, completely surprised and dazed.

She new Sparrowleap was nervous. She was trembling slightly. I will have to support her and then she will learn and grow.

Daffodilstar watched her new deputy assign patrols. It wasn't too long ago that I was doing that myself.
The thought brought a spark of sadness at the thought of Lilystar's death.

Bluepaw gazed around the camp, looking for a suitable warrior that wasn't busy with their current duties. Would Sparrowleap even be available? Given the new deputy's title, it didn't seem all that likely. Bluepaw pushed some dirt around underpaw, her gray eyes and expression thoughtful. "I'm not sure who should come with me. We're in a tight situation now, are we not? I think I could manage to go alone if need be. I'm sure StarClan will guide me."
