Mousebreeze laughed, "If we had just a couple more warriors, I bet ThunderClan wouldn't dare to even look at our territory." She felt a pang of sadness as she thought of how few warriors her Clan had now. She wished they had a leader or meadicine cat, or even a deputy like the other Clans, but they only had Fernstar's daughter.
Brightpetal sighed, "Do you think that they'll be even angrier than they would with us be now that you're a leader?"

"I wish I could do that, but I always feel like I'm letting my Clan down whenever I do something wrong," Brightepetal said. "You always seem so cool and collected."
"Yeah, I'm sure at one point we'll find a leader, medicine cat, and deputy," Mousebreeze said, comfurting herself more than Snakefang.

"Well, if I had to choose it'd be between you and Fernstar's daughter," Mousebreeze replied. "Fernstar's daughter is pretty ambitious, I wouldn't be surprised if she took up leadership soon."
"If I was in your Clan, I'd respect your decisions too," Brightpetal assured. As she looked around at the moor, she smiled. "I just love how the grasses move around, I could never leave this place."

"Prickly as the plant he was named after, as always," Brightpetal joked. "I guess I should go too, before anyone gets suspicious." Brightpetal licked Redstar's shoulder, before walking away.
Stonepelt looked up from the stream to see Redstar with another cat far away. As he stalked nearer, he saw that the other cat was Brightpetal, a WindClan she-cat. Stonepelt saw her exchange a few words with Redstar before padding away. Once she was out of earshot, Stonepelt confronted Redstar. "Who was that?" he said, hoping too hear some sort of explanation.

Stonepelt stepped back for a moment, shocked by his leader's calm demeanor. "This is in direct violation of the warrior code," he protested. "You're a leader, if the other Clans found out they'd mock us for sure."

*Redstar meowed* does it really matter what the other clans think at this point. they're already breaking the warrior code by not becoming one clan.
(I feel like we have forgotten the new code from Bramblestar's storm.)

(That rule doesn't particularly mean to become one Clan in times of need, only to fight to protect eachother. It even says "Each Clan has the right to be proud and independent.")
"I see you don't really care about the Clans, only about your little WindClan lover," Stonepelt growled. "I'll need some time to think about this." He stalked off, annoyed by his leader's failure to realize what he was doing was wrong.

Stonepelt arrived in camp, seething with anger, and sat down in his nest, curling his tail over his nose. Marigoldfur watched him stalk off, worried. Does Redstar have opposers already?

"Yeah, it's strang that he wasn't so fired up about the decision when it was announced," Marigoldfur commented. "In fact, he seemed almost in support of it at the gathering." She paaused for a second, suspicion growing inside of her. Is there something else going on? she wondered.

Brightpetal walked back to camp, picking up her rabbit on ther way. She dropped her rabbit on the fresh-kill pile, making a big thud.
Nettleleg looked up, "Woah, that's huge!" he said, completely amazed. "That can feed our entire Clan."
Brightpetal smiled at Nettleleg's compliment. She looked into the leader's den, hoping to see if her father would praise her for the catch.

Brightpetal smiled, her father was usually so gloomy nowadays, it was nice to see him out of his den.
Nettleleg looked at Frailstar. "I see you're not sulking your den, good job," he muttered sarcastically.
