Darkscar tried not to burst her excitement. Deep inside he knew that Foxtail was avoiding getting her lives. He wondered if she knew too and was trying to stay positive. Either way Darkscar replied, "Soon I bet." Cringing slightly, he tried to think of possibilities of cats that may be the deputy. Darkscar didn't think it would be him, even though he really wanted to. He thought about Ripplepool being the deputy. He thought she could make a pretty good one. He thought of a lot of other cats too but he couldn't remember half of the clan.

Amberrose finally decided she'd been lounging around for long enough. She rolled over onto her paws and started back, running into the returning medicine cats. Sageheart nodded in greeting. "How was it?" The she-cat tilted her head to one side.
"It was alright. Nothing big Starclan has to share so I guess we stay at peace for a while longer."
"That's always good to hear."

Ripplepool nodded to Darkscar, her soft eyes serious and held. "It's unsettling," she said to her friend, looking back at the cats in the clan. "I don't know what we will do when she must go receive her lives..." she said worried, her gaze drifting down. "The badgers, I know that happened a while ago, but I fear..." she didn't continue, her voice trailing off.

Thymepaw ran into camp, following her mentors, and then she branched off, running over to Darkscar, Shadepaw and Ripplepool. She greeted her sister and the others cats, politely of course and dipping her head gently to her clan-mates. She pawed at her sister playfully, and the two beginning to play gently.

Amberrose nodded to the medicine cats before heading off to her see her littermates. It sorted to her that they were plotting something. Or at least not being as sociable as they could be.
Sageheart scanned the camp before spring Foxtail. His tail tip twitched as he pared over. He nodded slightly. "Well hello there." His eyes were lit with amusement as he could guess she knew his reasoning for heating over right after the medicine cat meeting.

Thymepaw ran up to her mentors and Foxtail, her eyes filled with excitement. She dipped her head and smiled "Hello Foxtail, how are you?" she asks gently. She looked at the soon to be leader, and dipped her head in respect. "I'm now a official Medicine Cat Apprentice, I am honored to serve my clan." She says gently, her smile showing.

Foxtail let out an affectionate purr, flicking her tail tip in amusement at Thymepaws excitement. "Congratulations, Thymepaw, you will become a talented medicine cat," She responded with a purr, glancing over at Sageheart with a bemused look. The tortoiseshell noted his own excitement, "Hello, how can I help you, Sageheart?" She asked, her voice slightly iced.

Sageheart tilted his head to one side. "Tell me you're ready to receive your nine lives?" His tail swished across the ground slowly. He could tell she wasn't.

"Excuses." Sageheart brushed off easily. "You have perfectly capable warriors. They can survive a day without you. What can't happen is surviving without a true leader and s deputy. I know you're afraid they won't accept your ruling, but you can be guaranteed it's not going to happen if you put this off for much longer. The more you hesitate, the more they will question you."

"A good amount of our warriors are young." Sageheart tilted his head to one side. "I think Eagletalon would do well. All he needs is experience which is easy for him to get. Especially with a young leader who will hold the position for a while...."

"Since we just got back, I'll give you a bit of a break." Sageheart dipped his head. "But i expect you to be ready tomorrow." With a wave of his tail, he returned to the medicine cat's den for a nap.

Sageheart turned around briefly. "So soon? More like what's taken so long." He shook his head and returned to his nest. Although being clan leader was a huge responsibility, Foxtail needed to step up or step down. She wouldn't be alone, but she needed to stop running from what needed to be done.

Sageheart poked his head into Foxtail's den. He headed down at her rather amused. There were plenty of ways to wake her up. Devising to be gentle, he tickled her nose with his fluffy tail. "Wakey, wakey."
