(Moooooorning,) Lilyheart picked up the pace. "Stop me if you scent something," she mewed to Twistedbreeze, opening her mouth to scent prey. Nothing... she thought, picking up no scent of prey. Her ears swiveled around. Focus. she scolded herself, finding herself wander off into a pit of unfinished duties she still had to do.

TwistedBreeze chuckled a little, and shook his head. hard to do when i have a rabbit in my jaws the scarred tom thought to himself. but he kept his ears pricked for any sounds of prey. he wanted the deputy to catch something as well, otherwise he would feel a little bad.

Lilyheart veered off. She sniffed the ground and twirled in a small circle. "Ignore my weird behavior..." She murmured, ears flicking forward. Almost immediately, she bounded forward into a bush. "Got one!" She meowed triumphantly. She came back out of the bush carrying a squirrel. "Burying some food." She mewed. "Easy catch."

TwistedBreeze dropped his catch and purred. "nice job! should we continue, or bring this back to the camp?" he asked, dragging his tongue along his jaws as he sat down for a moment, watching the deputy. he wasnt real close with anyone in the clan, but he liked her company so far. she wasnt overbearingly annoying.

"I think e should catch at least one more piece of prey each. Do you have enough room in your mouth or do we need to bury the prey?" She asked. She always liked being around cats she didn't know very well. Her ears move down around, listening for any sounds of prey and predators.

"it will probably be easiest to bury what we have for now" TwistedBreeze answered. "so.... LilyHeart. is there anything else i can do for the clan, by the way?" he meowed quietly, keeping his jaws open afterwards for any hint of prey nearby.

"I was thinking of assigning an afternoon patrol. Maybe you could lead it," she answered, digging a hole to bury the prey. "The walls of the camp need a bit of reinforcing, the prey pile is low, shouldn't be after today," she went on. "All sorts of things. The apprentices need training, but I won't go into that. What else do,you think need be done?" She asked him.

after considering, TwistedBreeze shrugged. "maybe some exploration of the surrounding areas? sometimes when im out on my own i feel like something is watching me. id hate for someone to venture out on their own and get hurt, and no one knows." he suggested, recalling the fact that he had heard something possibly following him the past few times hes been out hunting or checking borders.

"Hmm..." Lilyheart thought. "That's strange. Maybe I should have some cats explore the territory, look for anything out of the ordinary you know?" She asked, placing her squirrel in the hole.

"i think that would be a good idea. but reinforcing the camp is probably more important." TwistedBreeze replied. he caught the scent of a vole nearby, and slunk away towards it, keeping silent. when he spots his target, he pounces, dispatching it with a quick killing bite.

Lilyheart stood still whilst TwistedBreeze hunted his prey. She sorted her thoughts silently and was spacing out again. She did this often as she always liked to go and get lost in her thoughts.

TwistedBreeze came back, and noticed how lilyheart was kinda spaced out and not paying attention. "i dont think youll catch any prey that way" he teased her, chuckling a little.

Lilyheart snapped back to reality. "Sorry." She mewed. "I do that when nobody is around. It's relaxing." She mewed, padding on. "What relaxes you most?"

"honestly? i dont do much to relax. im always on edge" TwistedBreeze admitted. his tail tip flicked gently back and forth as he thought about it. "id rather be on edge, and ready for an attack, then relax and get caught off guard." he reasoned.

"Good idea," Lilyheart replied. "I can usually snap back pretty quickly." She said, veering off and walking to a place she found most plentiful in prey. "We are going some what close to the gorge, so watch your step."

(i feel like twistedbreeze is falling for lilyheart xD)
"will do" TwistedBreeze replied, following after the deputy carefully. as he got closer to the edge of the gorge, the tom peered over the edge, and examined the drop. i seriously hope no one ever falls down there. but it could be good in a battle, if it becomes desperate.

(What could this mean? *Writing down all the different ways Lily could fall for him legitimately and figuratively*) Lilyheart dared not look over the edge. "Let's see..." She muttered to herself. "Was it this way?" She asked herself, stopping and looking at the gorge. She padded far from the edge, but she could still see the rocks in it. "That's terrifying." She said loudly. "Oh it was this way." She murmured trotting along confidently.

(lol up to you xD)
"are you afraid of heights?" TwistedBreeze asked, trotting along after her and catching up. once he had caught up, he kept up easily, his tail curling slightly as they traveled together. it had been a long time since he had felt any sort of friendship or companionship, even after joining his clan.

"No. I just have a fear of falling." She replied, scooting farther away from the edge. "I like heights. The give me a good view of the area. When I'm in a tree, I don't have a fear of falling because I can use my claws to grip onto the tree. Around the gorge is a different story."

"fair enough. although if you started to slip id grab you by the tail or something and try to haul you back to safety" TwistedBreeze admitted, chuckling a little. his ears pricked forward towards the bushes ahead, and he indicated the noise with his tail. "sounds like some prey to me"

Lilyheart chuckled. "I'd pull you down with me, with my weight," she joked quietly. Her ears flicked forward and she dropped. lets see if there are two... she thought, a determined look on her face.

TwistedBreeze stayed back and out of her way, letting the deputy have as much room to maneuver as she may need. in fact, the tom sat down, and wrapped his tail around his paws, waiting patiently

Lilyheart twitched her tail in a thank you to Twistedbreeze. Her attitude changed from bubbly to focused within seconds and she jumped ahead. The mouse was in her sights and she pounced on it, killing it swiftly. She triumphantly returned to Twistedbreeze. "Got it. We should pick up the other prey and go back to camp."

"ill race you back to where we have the prey buried" TwistedBreeze suggested with a grin, tensing his muscles on the off chance that she said yes. he was surprised at how well he got along with the she-cat, and was even more surprised that he was actually relaxing, a tiny bit.

Lilyheart grinned. "You're on!" She said, adrenaline coursing through her as she exploded away from Twistedbreeze. The tom would most likely beat her as she could never run very long if she jumped away like that.

with a chuckle, TwistedBreeze took off as well, his strides extending and covering much more ground then the she-cat. but he slowed his pace, enough that it was a very close call. but the tom still beat the she-cat, by a little bit. he skidded to a stop by where they buried their previous kills.

Lilyheart smiled childishly. "I like racing. It lets off steam," she mewed unburying the kills and tossing him his kills.

"agreed. and its good for stretching out the muscles" TwistedBreeze purred. picking up his rabbit, along with the vole, the tom waited for his companion to gather her kills before continuing back towards camp. he was eager to get started on patching up the defenses.

"Would you grab the squirrel?" She aske picking up the mouse. "Nevermind, I got it." She mumbled through mouse fur. She picked up the squirrel and smiled at TwistedBreeze. "Lef'sh go."

TwistedBreeze chuckled, and headed back to camp, his tail tip flicking back and forth. as the two made their way back to camp, the tom kept an eye out for any brambles, or anything else that could be used to help fix the camps defenses up.
