Lionpaw gasped silently. He longed to call out to Larkpaw, but he was afraid. What would she do next? He crouched low to the ground, ready to spring if she did anything bad.

Larkpaw was quiet for a moment, going over her options before deciding what she needed to do. She slowly lifted her paw to her neck and let out a shaky breath before starting to press into her throat.

Lionpaw saw Larkpaw lift her paw to her throat and immediately leaped out from behind the bush. "Stop!" he screeched, barreling over Larkpaw. "What in the name of StarClan are you doing?" He growled.

Larkpaw jumped as Lionpaw barreled towards her," Lionpaw?" She asked confused as to why he was here. She winced and shrank back away from him as he growled at her," Why do you care..." She mumbled.

"I care about you too much to let you die, Larkpaw! I'm sorry if you feel like you don't belong, but don't kill yourself to make it better!" Lionpaw's eyes were wild, his breathing heavy. "Did you even think about how I would feel? I just lost my sister, and I couldn't cope with you gone too! I could never live with myself knowing I was the cause of your death!"

Larkpaw could only blink at the tom as he rambled on. She bowed her head,"..I'm sorry.." She barely whispered to Lionpaw. She didn't want to cause him anymore pain but she thought he didn't want her. Larkpaw felt so selfish for trying to kill herself.

Lionpaw's words halted as Larkpaw apologized. His gaze softened and his voice dropped to a whisper. "It's alright." He pressed close to Larkpaw's nuzzling her cheek. "I just don't want to lose you. I never want to lose you. You are the best thing that has happened to me since I was born, and I-I love you."

Larkpaw pressed into Lionpaw for comfort and sighed. She froze when she heard the last sentence," W-what? You love me?" Larkpaw searched Lionpaw's eyes to see if he was telling the truth.

Lionpaw froze as well, and looking into Larkpaw's eyes. "You are the most beautiful cat in the world." Lionpaw spoke with feeling and truth. "You are funny and sweet and kind, and everything a cat could want. I want to spend the rest of my life with you!" He paused, waiting to see her reaction.

"Me?" Larkpaw whispered to the tom in awe. She blinked a couple of times before processing everything Lionpaw had just said."I love you Lionpaw.." She said softly.

Lionpaw licked Larkpaw's ears with joy as she spoke. His eyes sparkled with happiness, his tail waving high in the air. "Let's go back to camp and get some rest," he meowed. He had calmed down a little, but his tail was still kinked high over his back.

Larkpaw slowly nodded to Lionpaws suggestion and started trotting back to camp. Larkpaw felt happy knowing Lionpaw loved her but she still had that thought in the back of her head that she was alone. Shaking away all the bad thoughts Larkpaw walked next to Lionpaw back to camp
