Chillberry was taking his word for the mods aspect. The tom wouldn't lie to him, and he was sure extra moss made the bedding wonderful. Though, moss was no longer to be the main topic. After all, it was a bit odd to hold an entire conversation just on moss. But, a conversation could have multiple topics at once, and this one surely did.

Thoughts turning back to the newly named warriors, he wondered if they were together right now. Falconclaw's advances were clear to many others, though Stoneheart only ever appeared confused by them. Though, it seemed she felt something for the tom. Whether it was platonic or romantic, he couldn't tell. But she felt something for sure.

"She'll figure it out. Or ask somebody," the white and tabby tom chuckled. The she-cat was smart, and he was sure they'd figure it out. "I think it'd be sweet if they did end up together." Of course, if they didn't, then it was probably for the best.

The warrior hadn't taken much notice to the lack of romance. He'd been focused more on trying to get food for the clan and make sure the borders were marked and just. Everything. He always busied himself with his duties for whatever reason he had, so he hadn't taken to romance much. So, seeing relationships that ranged from friendship to romance blooming all around him was truly a wonderful sight. With the clan under Chickenstar's rule, things were sure to become and stay wonderful.

A voice broke his train of thoughts. Turning his attentions to his brother, he smiled. "Surely they would. They'd be wonderfully skilled." He was sure of this statement, seeing as the two newly named warriors were highly skilled. Though, when the question was turned on him, he laughed a bit nervously. "No, I haven't really thought much about relationships. What about you?"

The deputy stepped to the side of Redear barreling from the warrior’s den half asleep. “Wow there,” the black tom grunted as he shifted his weight and stumbled slight so that he wouldn’t fall over. The half eared warrior turned to face the small black tom. “Oh, sorry Blackpelt, didn’t see you.” “Obviously,” he grunted before shaking himself. “Everyone’s on patrol,” the black tom sighed to Redear. “Come with me, we need to check on the Snake Branch area. No one has been up there in a while.”
The red tom looked over at Blackpelt giving him a nod. “Alright, lead the way deputy.” The red tom was up for a good run. He had been stuck in camp all day. He had so much time on his paws that he wished he didn’t. Following after Blackpelt as the smaller tom led the way toward the camp exit, he stretched his muscles giving them a wakeup call.

Once out in the forest, the two toms stayed at a steady trot out toward Snake Branch. They zigzagged their way through the forest till they reached the bank of the creek. The watered bubbled soothingly around the pebbles and rocks. The black tom looked toward Redear as the tom leaned down for a drink. Padding along the bank, Blackpelt watched the water swirl and whirl within itself.
He wasn’t really watching where his paws were being placed. The Clan was starting to get into order once again and they days started to run more smoothly. Today was a nice day to just relax. Although the blazing sun was beating down, the trees shaded them creating dapples on the grassy earth. His back paw pelted on a smooth, slippery, lumpy object.
A hot, stinging pang ripped onto his back leg as a long, coiled, black snake snagged its fang right into the toms back leg. Hissing in pain, the tom kicked his back leg out causing his attacker to be flung into the open. It gave a deep hiss before quickly slithering off. A yowl of pain ripped from his maw. Redear’s ears perked at the yowl from Blackpelt. He looked up quick enough to see the black snake make its escape into the bushes. The red tom bounded over to the deputy. “Blackpelt!”
The green eyed tom looked to see Redear heading over to him. His back leg pulsed with pain as he watched the warrior coming at him. “Redear,” he grunted, his back leg raised, unable to stand on it. “You go ahead... Tell Mudfeather...” The warrior nodded at his deputy’s words. Turning tail, the warrior bounded away back toward camp. His heart raced with panic.

Bursting into camp, the red tom came to a stop in the middle of the camp. “ MUDFEATHER! ITS BLACKPELT! HE’S BEEN BITTEN BY A SNAKE!”

Chillberry's response brought a smile to Chickenstar. He looked at his brother with sparkling green eyes, chest puffing out a bit despite the warmth he still felt against his ears. "Oh, I don't know," he murmured with a shrug and then another shuffle of his white paws. "I'm sure she only sees me as a friend." It wasn't like the leader exactly had a crush on Flickershine - at least not yet. Was it possible that he grew feelings for her that went beyond friendship? Oh yes. It was very possible. As for Flickershine developing feelings for him, well...that was to be determined. Though he would be more than happy to continue their growing friendship especially since he cherished it as much as he did.

Chickenstar looked as if he were about to say something more when all of a sudden a cat barreled into camp. The leader promptly got to his paws, ears flattening in worry as he noticed Halfear. The fur along the tomcat's nape rose in fright the moment Halfear yowled out for Mudfeather. Chickenstar felt like he had to act; he looked at his brother for a quick moment. "I'm sorry," he murmured before stepping away and rushing over to Halfear, green eyes flashing with worry and also a new found authority. "Where is he?" The leader questioned right as a panicked looking Mudfeather rushed over, her blue eyes wide and her jaws clamped tight against a few herbs and whatnot.

The medicine cat looked at Halfear and Chickenstar before frantically repeating her leader's question. "Where is he? Was the snake poisonous?" She almost choked out against her herbs. If he had been bit by a deadly snake...if he was out there all alone and slowly dying from venom... Mudfeather felt her chest tighten as her heart raced against her rib cage. Blackpelt...oh, if he...if he... No. She couldn't think about it. She couldn't think about her dear Blackpelt dying out there or even in camp. He had to survive. He had to make it. He had to be there for the Clan. ... He had to be there for her.

Taking in a deep breath, the tortoiseshell attempted to calm herself. "We need to hurry. Even if the snake wasn't deadly, a snakebite can quickly grow infected." And infection could be just as deadly as any poison or venom. Dear StarClan, please let Blackpelt be safe... Mudfeather silently prayed.
