Ambzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

That voice. He knew it.

Flame perked his ears forward, slowly standing taller when the familiar voice echoed against his ears.

Chillberry.

If the warrior was calling out to him that meant he was alone. Chillberry was alone. Had he...had he been looking for Flame? Had Chillberry been searching for the rogue all this time? Flame felt his mouth go dry at the thought, but not in a bad way, if anything he was too exited to put it into words. Too hopeful to put it into words. His heart began to beat faster against his chest. He felt his breathing speed up. Flame was sure he was almost shaking as he got to his paws, but he didn't care about that right now. All that mattered was Chillberry.

The orange tabby took a few steps forward. "Chillberry, I'm over here," he called out in a loud enough voice to be heard over the falling rain.

The feeling in his chest intensified when the familiar brown and white pelt of Chillberry came into sight. Flame perked up even more than he already was, his amber eyes brightening and a large smile coming over his face. Seeing the Clan cat made his presence all the more real. Chillberry was here with him, not far away in some other camp with some other cats... It was time to stop thinking about that. Right now all that mattered was that Chillberry was truly here with him. Flame had to put aside some of his feelings to keep up a conversation with the other tom.

He had been looking for him? Flame felt his chest swell with some odd emotion he had never quite felt before. The wild-furred rogue smiled even brighter. "Really? I...I was looking for you, too. I wasn't sure if you would even be out here with the rain and all," he murmured as he stepped closer to Chillberry, wanting to badly to just lean forward and nuzzle him, but he held back. Flame didn't want to ruin the moment by pushing past his limits or something. For right now he was just going to stay on the safe side.

That really was Flame, wasn't it? StarClan he was so handsome... Wait what? Well, he wasn't lying but... No, now wasn't the time to delve into his thought and complex feelings, now was the time to enjoy the moment. Right now, he was going to enjoy his time with the orange feline, and probably thinking about it on the way home. And that meant setting aside whatever the hell it was he was feeling at the moment in hopes of focusing properly. Or, somewhat properly.

With the rogues response, Chillberry felt his ears grow warm. It made him feel a bit special knowing that Flame had been looking for him as well. A grin took his maw as he leaned towards a bit, nuzzling the other. "I wasn't going to but I thought it would be worth it. And it was." He let his statement hang in the air for a moment before pulling back from the gesture. "Sorry! I probably shouldn't have done that..."

Why did Chillberry have to be so cute? Handsome even? It just wasn't fair in any way. There was no way he could like this Clan cat. There was no way he could...love...this RidgeClanner. It would be going against everything he knew in the group of rogues. It would be going against Ahadi, going against Crystal even. The feeling in his chest was still unclear to him, but he was starting to figure it out little by little, and it scared him. He was both exhilarated and terrified of the feeling all at once.

Flame swallowed dryly when Chillberry came over and nuzzled him. For a second there he found himself speechless. All that mattered in that moment was the touch of Chillberry. He was then brought down by conflicting thoughts.

The voice of his mother, stark and firm, rang in his ears. "Ahadi has given you an important job. You let him down and you have let me down. Do this for Diamond. Remember how that Clan cat killed her? Avenge her death, my son." He could also hear the satisfied purr of Ahadi as he imagined taking down the Clan. Flame would be the hero of this, finding out the Clan secrets and giving them away to the Clan's enemy. It was his job to do as much. And yet, looking at Chillberry, he found himself unable to betray what Chillberry stood for.

The rogue had been so caught up in his thoughts that he hadn't even heard Chillberry. Instead he purred bashfully, looking away and licking at his shoulder fur somewhat awkwardly. "I'm glad you were here. I wasn't sure how easily I could have went another day without seeing you..." He meant it. He meant those words with all his heart, and Flame could only hope Chillberry took notice of the truth.
