The light pitter patter of an early morning shower could be heard throughout the camp, and Kalepaw was glad that their camp by the ridge provided such wonderful shelter. Even with his fear of water, the tom was OK with rain. But he still wouldn't choose to put himself out in it. The chill of such an early morning sent a shiver up his spine, and he nestled in closer to himself. It might've been cold now, but he knew that as the hours pass the sun would rise higher and end up scorching everything it touched. That was as long as it didn't continue raining, anyway. Although he was content staying in his dry corner, his mind and his limbs itched to to move. So far this greenleaf had been passing by lazily, and he was bored. |

Crystal had yet to go back to camp after her run in with the Clan cat. She had tended to her wounds as best as she could, but luckily her injuries had not been deep or critical. Most of them had been superficial, a mere annoyance than anything else. Now that she had cleaned up her pelt and had stopped most of the bleeding, she was on the prowl once more. This time she was following the Clan cat's scent, her jaws parted ever so slightly to draw in enough air to keep up with the tom that she had skirmished with moments before. If she could find the camp the Ahadi would be quite pleased; the rogue group knew most of the land around here, but they had yet to truly find the camp. That one time they had stolen a Clan cat had been away from the camp. Now Crystal was going to find it and become a true star in Ahadi's eyes. Maybe he would promote her. She would make her way up the ranks! She would become more powerful. Maybe she would even get to replace that dumb tom that served as deputy now... How wonderful that would be.
The pale ginger she-cat had these proud thoughts running through her mind as she continued down the scent trail. The scents of Clan cat became all the more thick as she eased on by a few sycamore trees, the fur on her spine prickling with excitement. The scent was much too strong to be from just a small patrol; she had to be nearing the camp! If the scent was this strong even in the rain, then Crystal was bound to be getting close.

Continuing to eye the camp with a half lidded, solemn gaze, Kalepaw had decided enough was enough. His paws for itching to run, and his jaw was ready for even a possible fresh-kill. Even if the weather was gloomy, that was no reason for him to be.
The tomcat pulled himself to his paws, and looked around warily. The warriors were all busy and no apprentices he particularly liked were around, so he'd have to go alone. He'd snuck out plenty of times before, so this was no issue.
Stepping out from under his shelter and into the heavier growing rain, he shuddered as the droplets hit his pelt. But, the apprentice shook it off and slunk to the entrance, doing a double check to make sure no one saw him that would care.
Satisfied that no one saw, he smiled to himself and slipped out.

Deep satisfaction was pulling the she-cat forward. She had to be nearing the camp, she just had to be. There was no way there would be this many scents of Clan cat in fresh rain and it not be the camp. If finding the camp and bringing directions back to Ahadi didn't promote her then she didn't know what would.
Easing forward Crystal was growing closer and closer to the actual camp with each pawstep. Just when she thought she was right on top of it, Crystal paused. A single scent caught her attention, the scent of a young tomcat. Crystal's tail twitched. Was this the scent of one of their trainees? It must be, there was no other explanation for the scent. Perhaps if she found the tomcat, which she was sure she would be able to in no time, she could use his young age against him. Not all young cats were naive, but Crystal was hoping that this one would be.

The toms smile remained etched on his paw with each step he continued to take, happy to finally be using his legs. Honestly, it felt like he hadn't been out of the camp in moons.
However, rather suddenly an unfamiliar scent hit him. A rogue.
The apprentice froze in place. A rogue? In ridgeclan territory? Earlier that day he had seen Leafblaze stumble into camp with wounds, but Kalepaw hadn't been paying all that much attention and had just imagined the warrior was clumsy enough to injure himself. But what if it had been the rogue?
The usually high and mighty tom began to panic. What should he do? He had never been in a scenario like this before. He felt his pride pushing him foward, to take on the rogue, but his common sense was holding him back.
A last second idea came to him and he decided he would ambush her, and so he silently clambered into the bushes. He couldn't let her near camp, and he definitely couldn't let his clanmates find out that he was out here alone.
