Molewhisker sighed, following his apprentice's scent which was mingled with other cat's scents. He eventually found him in Leafpool's den. "Let's go hunt." He meowed, planning to take his apprentice by the sheer edge of the territory, by the lake.

โ -- Alderpaw relaxed, curling his tail over his paws. "Sure," he answered warmly. He cocked his head, wondering out loud. "But, I thought you were training with Cherryfall though." I certainly don't have any training with Molewhisker anymore. Even though he's my mentor. I'll consider changing into a medicine cat apprentice. It felt awkward being around him, since he technically decided dump him. "she said that I deserved a day off, I've been working my tail off." she padded out of the den "are you coming or what?" she called over her shoulder. Brightheart licked his cheek. "I know you're lying, Bumblestripe." She meowed. "I know you're sad. Things like this happen. I can help you. But, you don't need to listen to a cat like me with half of her face basically shredded." She sighed. Then Brightheart spoke up again, "things like my face happen too." She sighed again. "That was just unluckiness, I guess," "Stuff happens, you know. Just gotta go with the flow." he joked slightly before scenting a mouse. dropping into a hunting crounch, he stalked it and pounced. He took a bite before asking Brightheart if she wanted some. |

Alderpaw blinked, looking towards Sparkpaw. "I guess I've got to go hunting now." He then looked back at Molewhisker. "Okay." He got up, wondering why he'd suddenly start hunting again. Wasn't it pretty obvious that he took no interest in being a warrior anymore? It was strange how he thought he'd be the best warrior, now to being the best medicine cat.

Molewhisker led his apprentice out of camp, being silent as he ran. "Alderpaw, you like me as a mentor, don't you?" He called back, suddenly curious of why Alderpaw kind of looked bored.

Sparkpaw had a plan. she slowed downed and said "Alderpaw, I have a plan." she stopped to look at Molewhisker, he was too far ahead to listen. "I'll catch some prey than give it you, which you'll come out of the brush and say the molewhisker 'i caught this!' so what do you think of my plan?" she thought it was a great plan.
Alderpaw turned, looking at Molewhisker's paws. "No, you're a great mentor. It's just that-" he paused for a moment, thinking of what he should say. "Sometimes, being a medicine cat interests me more." |

"Yeah..." Alderpaw mumbled. Awkward saying that. He stopped right behind Molewhisker, lifting his nose, scenting nothing except the faint scent of Sparkpaw. I can't tell me that. He closed his eyes concentrating, still not being able to detect whatever was around them. "I can't scent any-" Alderpaw paused as he heard Sparkpaw whispered something to him. Fox... is that what she said? He widened his eyes as he saw a bushy red tail disappearing behind a clump of ferns. "Fox!"

Molewhisker perked his ears. "F-fox?" He stuttered. "Stay here, and if I yowl, help!" He followed Alderpaw's gaze and dashed into the ferns, their leaves whipping him in the face. He yowled as the fox tore into his leg, blood oozing out. "Help!" He yowled, snapping at the fox's snout and managing to get a good bite on its shoulder. Molewhisker yowled again as it scratched his eyes, and the tom was blinded by blood.

โ -- Alderpaw yelped in alarm as the fox started attacking Molewhisker. "Sparkpaw!" He hissed. "We should go back- I should go back and warn our clanmates!" And tell them, he added fearfully, forgetting everything Molewhisker had just said.

Brightheart rushed to the fox as well, helping as much as she could. She watched as the fox slashed Molewhisker's back open, and fled into the undergrowth. Brightheart came so late, not even a scratch was on her. She darted over to Molewhisker. "Someone get Leafpool! O-or Jayfeather!" She cried, sitting by Molewhisker and licking him as he wheezed out blood.
Leafpool sighed, looking up at the sky. She thought she heard a yowl, and sprang to her paws. What if I'm imagining things again?She cautiously padded out of the flower-clearing, and slowly headed in the direction she heard yowls. Maybe an omen? No, Leafpool. That isn't it.
