"My mother is dead." Vine said evenly, "the den collapsed on her. And Wasp is forgetful, and from what I can hear, preoccupied with new arrivals - perhaps teaching the new older one how to hunt. She will forget." She doesn't blink, or gesture in any direction, simply continues keeping her face turned generally in the direction of moon. "And it is not exactly as if a 2 moon old, half starved and blind kit can hunt for themselves... What would you have me do, stranger?" "you have a good sense of smell and hearing, right?" Moon asks, before adding. "ive heard of blind cats hunting by just that and why not remind her?" (gtg for the night, its 2am and school tomorrow)

{{ Sorry guys I'm back }}
Cora looked around curious as to who the owner of this land was but forgot about it when the tom offered to take her hunting where there was a lot of fat mice. "Yes that sounds great", she meowed taking him up on the offer. "And no I havn't your the first cat I've come across since we came into this territory. I havn't even come across any scent trails", the brown shecat added before stepping towards him a single step to show that she would follow him. This was still an unknown cat and she didn't want to be walking into an ambush but the tom seemed genuine so she decided to just keep a watchful eye out.

{{ Okay }}
Not too far away as Jagg sat in the quiet of the forest he could hear the faint muffle of meows. His ears perked up and his dark amber eyes looked for where the sound was coming from. Rising to his paws he walked curiously towards the sounds. It wasn't long till he found himself walking into a clearing with two she-cats mewing and having a friendly dispute. The tall lean sandy tom found himself curious about the two cats and made his appearance known but moving into view. "Hello there...", he meowed trying to be friendly.

Mottle whipped around, her ears flat against her head and her claws unsheathing as she instinctively stepped behind her sister. The small she-cat lashed her tail as she watched, a growl rumbling in her throat.
Leaf hissed as Jagg approached, narrowing her eyes and unsheathing the tips of her claws, standing up straight in front of her sister, tail waving slowly and her ginger fur prickling at her neck. "Who are you?" She asked, narrowing her green eyes defensively. "We have no food here, so if that's what you're here for, go ahead and move along." The feisty she-cat meowed.

"Woah, you two have spirit", Jagg meowed simply sitting down not moving closer to show he wasn't a threat. He was amused by the two she-cats reaction, not quite expecting them to be so aggressive. The yellow tom wrapped his tail over his paws he spoke again, "I don't mean to intrude but I have been traveling from a land far from here and I was just curious as to what this territory was like around here. My sister and I have come from the far side of those fields and just entered this forest. Do you think you could tell me where a good safe place to rest would be", he asked hoping to win the two cats over.

Tawnyfire"I'm still a tad undersized for hunting." At the notion of reminding Wasp to do something, Vine abruptly purred in amusement, nearly doubled over and whiskers twitching violently. "Me? Remind Wasp of anything? She takes it easy on me because I'm young, but... she's vicious, Miss. If she caught a cat like you on her land... you'd be sent off with a lot nastier than your tail between your legs! My brother loves her, but. She's not a very tolerant cat." She explained, flicking an ear back towards where Wasp's nesting area would be. //And I'm back from school, good evening everybody.

Leaf narrowed her eyes, carefully sheathing her claws as the tom sat down. The she-cat studied him for a moment before flattening her fur, but she stayed standing. "Most places are alright." She meowed cautiously. "Just stay away from other cats if you're not sure if they're friendly or not, and avoid anything that looks occupied, even if there's no one there." Leaf glanced back at her Mottle, who shrugged but stayed silent. "Prey is plentiful this time of year, and they're fat too, storing for winter." She never took her eyes off of Jagg, not trusting him exactly.
"We have plenty of room where we're staying." Mottle spoke up quietly, only earning a glare from her sister. "If... if you don't have anywhere else to go." The she-cat's discolored eyes stayed on the tom, extremely cautious but there was some curiosity too... this was one of the few cats that didn't want to fight, and it looked like Leaf wouldn't earn any more scars from this encounter.

Jagg listened to what the two she-cats said and nodded taking it all in. "Well I will have to ask my sister, if she doesn't mind that that would be great. She should be back before nightfall, she went out to hunt. By the way my name is Jagg, and who might you be?", the yellow toms tail tip twitched as he spoke and his eyes continued to observe them carefully. So far they hadn't attacked and it seemed that they wouldn't if he was to remain peaceful.

"I'm Leaf, and this is Mottle." Leaf meowed, moving her glare from her sister and resting her eyes on Jagg. "I suppose it would be alright if you came for a bit... But I'm warning you right now," The ginger she-cat said almost gravely, "If you try to hurt Mottle or I, you'll be missing more than a little bit of your pelt." For some reason, Leaf felt the need to make a threat, let this tom know she was serious. It was her way, but it seemed to get her into a lot of trouble in the past. Oh well, it's not like she learned.
Mottle rolled her eyes and met Jagg's gaze, shrugging although her face was friendly. This tom genuinely didn't seem dangerous, and Mottle liked to think of herself as a good judge of character; plus, the fact that he was handsome helped. Oh shut up Mottle. She chided herself, flicking her tail as Leaf confronted him. "It's not far from here, just a bit that way." She mewed in her quiet voice, motioning behind her.

"Well I am no threat, but don't think that if you attack me I wont fight back", Jagg countered and gave Leaf a teasing glare as he made light humor or her aggressiveness. He then turned to Mottle meeting her gaze, "Well my sister, Cora can just follow my scent to where we are going. Shes a good tracker, and she is kind. Not as feisty as some she-cats like to be", he meowed slightly hinting to Leaf to loosen up. He was trying to lighten the mood. The tom himself was normally aggressive but he was trying to take a different approach on things and so far it was working for him.

Leaf huffed and glared at Jagg; she was not going to be friendly to this tom, that she had made her mind up. For now, at least. "Fine. Just follow us, I guess." The ginger she-cat began to pad forward, as she walked past her sister she shot her another glare, with Mottle met with an eye-roll and followed, going slower as to match her pace with Jagg's.
"You have a sister?" Mottle asked softly as they walked, eyes curious. "So you must know what it feels like... The two of you against the world." Mottle turned her gaze in front of her. "Don't mind Leaf's rude attitude. She'll warm up." The small she-cat said that part a little louder, hoping her sister would hear and take a hint.

Moon says, having paused a moment when she thought about that time and shoke her head, pushing the thought aside. "besides," she starts going over and picking up the mouse. "its best to start learning the basic's now." her mew was muffled some by the mouse.

"Ah yes, against the world for sure. But sometimes its against each other, and right now I'm trying to get back into my beloved sisters good graces", Jagg meowed to Mottle seeing that she slowed to keep step with her be made his pace to match hers. He knew that when she did finally show up that there would still be tension between them and he didn't want the two she-cats to shove them out because of it.

Mottle chuckled quietly. "Ah yes, the old sibling dispute... something tells me that I'm having one of these right now as of inviting you guys to stay with us." She meowed as they walked, tail flicking as the trees around her got more and more familiar. "We're almost there. It's a huge fallen tree, and we've weaved bracken and moss above it to make a roomy den.""
Leaf walked ahead in stony silence, refusing to glance back or join the conversation. I spend my whole life protecting her for her to invite a complete stranger to come and sleep where we sleep? Is she crazy?! The ginger she-cat slowed as they began to reach the log, but continued to face forward.

//Hello, Clover!
Wasp watched with feigned disinterest, already making notes of what she had to teach the young she-cat. Padding forward, she opened her mouth to start meowing advice, only to be hit with a strong cat-scent. Lifting her head, she scanned around, eyes narrow and much colder than she'd ever shown with Snow. "One moment, Snow..." She growled, turning to face where Casper was hiding. "You have until I'm done instructing this cat to show, and explain yourself. If you aren't where I can see you, You'll be nothing but an unsightly stain!" Her growl was practically a roar, tail lashing. Then her fun flattened, and she faced Snow. "Sorry. Now, Your crouch is almost there. You're not low enough, and as such, you can't ground her paws well enough. Crouch again, and this time, I want to see your belly nearly touching the moss."
Vine shrugged, not particularly caring. "Whatever you say, Moon. I still wouldn't risk it if I were you. Or do - what do I know, I'm just a blind kit!" With that, she retreated into the bramble, tucking the squirrel even deeper inside, where it would be hard for a larger cat to retrieve it. Moon may have caught it fair and square, but Vine had stolen it fair, and finders' keepers was very much a rule that applies to rogue life.

Casper's eyes widened and he flattened his ears, knowing he was in no condition to fight. That cat could kill me in an instant. The young tom crawled out of the bushes, head low submissively. The tom looked at the two cats, realizing how sorry he must look in comparison; scraggly, skinny, weak... Hopefully this she-cat would have some mercy on him. "I... I didn't mean to do any... any harm." He stuttered.

Snow immediately shrank away, familiar with that harsh tone of voice, and, honestly, the thin she cat feared it. Her hackles raised slightly as the tom-cat slunk out of the bushes, and she narrowed her eyes, noting that he was in fairly rough condition himself. He didn't pose any threats. She attempted to straighten herself, eyes never leaving the tom before them, deciding that she should prove her worth to Wasp, to show that she wasn't just going to mooch off of her territory.

Wasp lashed her tail again, padding forward with unsheathed claws as she studied the young tom. Pathetic. What kind of day is this, filling her territory with Wastrels and defenseless mousebrains? She stands over him, eyes narrow. Casper is being judged, and is found wanting. "Who are you, and what are you doing here. Can't you smell? I know there's scent markers to outline my territory." Her snarl is threatening, if lacking a bit of the fire it had a few moments ago. What could she do, send them off to be coddled by Bark, or torn apart by Xaerzaa? She had a roughness to her, but she wasn't heartless.

"My.. my name's Casper." The tom looked up from the ground to meet Wasp's gaze, determined not to seem like a terrified little kit... which was exactly what he looked like. "I was just looking for some food, I... I didn't realize about the scent markers." The gray tom's back legs trembled a bit; this she-cat was terrifying, and who was the other one next to her? All he could do was hope that he didn't get attacked.

Jagg nodded agreeing with Mottle about her possibly being in the same predicament as him. "Well they can't stay mad at us for forever", he meowed to the she-cat knowing that Leaf was listening in. When Mottle then told him about their den he wondered if it would be big enough for the four of them. "That sounds like a pretty cozy den, you think it will fit four? If not I don't mind sleeping outside at the entrance to keep guard", he offered trying to be a gentleman.

"It should fit four..." Mottle tilted her head, thinking . "If not, it's easy to expand. We'll just need to find some more bracken." The she-cat glanced around as they approached the clearing, ducking under a low hanging branch and slipping through some undergrowth before it opened up again, the log leaning on a large rock with their bracken and moss weaved above and nests inside.
"If anyone keeps guard it will be me." Leaf growled loud enough for Jagg to hear, slipping into the clearing and walking over to the edge of the 'den' and sitting down, watching the tom and her sister through narrowed eyes. Mottle rolled her own and flicked her tail, glancing at Jagg. Ignore her.

"Sounds good", Jagg meowed glad to hear that it should fit all of them. When Leaf said that she would guard the den he just dipped his head to her. Turning he faced Mottle, "What do you think about getting a quick hunt in before the sun sets?", he asked curiously. The sandy tom was famished from traveling and he was trying his best to not let his stomach rumble.

"That sounds great, actually. I haven't eaten all day!" Mottle meowed excitedly, her eyes lighting up. She wasn't usually this quick to warm up to people, but this tom seemed kind enough.
"We just ate earlier, Mottle." Leaf lashed her tail, slightly jealous of not having her sister's attention that she was so used to, day in and day out. "I'll stay here and wait for you." The she-cat meowed, monotone. "And, Jagg, my offer still stands." With that, the ginger she-cat turned her attention to the den, speculating the bracken and thinking on how they could expand it; she did not want to be sleeping right next to strangers. Building was her strong suit, so she got to work.
"Let's go, then. Before it gets dark." Mottle glanced over at Leaf, making a mental note to talk to her later and began padding back towards the undergrowth. "Coming, Jagg?"

{{ I might not be able to see the obvious on this one, but what is the offer that Leaf is talking about?? Is it about guarding the den? }}
Jagg followed her quickly and let her lead the way through her own territory. "You think she might be in a better mood when we come back?", he asked curious trying to keep the mood light. His dark amber eyes looked back and forth over the terrain for traces of prey.
