Skyfall chuckled and nudged her apprentice with a small smile. "Don't pout. I'll be done in a second" she mewed briefly before tucking into her chosen piece of prey.

Fawnpaw stalked behind them and then jumped out aover the branch and inner down one of the birds the other starts to fly towards Riverpaw.

Seeing one bird coming near him, unsheathing his claws, Riverpaw and swiped at the pigeon's wings sending it crashing to the ground injured. Riverpaw bit it's neck, killing it instantly. "Fawnpaw send the other one tumbling here.", ordered the apprentice to the she-cat.

Riverpaw saw it falling towards him and he caught it with his mouth. He spat the bird onto the ground and said,"You can go down now.

Skyfall huffed good naturdly at her apprentice and shook her head with a small smile. She tucked her paws under her as she continued to have her breakfast as planned. Her apprentice could use a lesson in patience any ways.

Quailspring noticed that Foxpaw was looking bored as she sat with her head in her paws in the apprentice's den. "Foxpaw!" he called as he towards the apprentice den. "Do you want to battle train, we haven't done it in a while." Foxpaw perked up as she heard Quailspring, "Of course I'd like to go battle training!" she chirped before running towards him. She hadn't trained for a while and was looking forwards to showing off some of her new moves. "Alright, I see you're excited.I let's go, I think we'll be able to train alone today." mewed Quailspring.

Skyfall blinked up at the golden tom and blushed slightly without realizing it. "Oh hey Goldheart. I was taking Nightpaw out for battle training. If you wanted to hunt, I do believe that Cottonwillow was wanting to hunt with someone today. " she mewed, her tail tip flicking towards the light grey she cat in the corner of camp.

As Quailspring and Foxpaw entered the training clearing, Quailspring was already starting to instruct Foxpaw on what to do in battle. "You have to make sure yo're always balanced, if you're not, the enemy has an advantage," he droned, Foxpaw wasn't focusing, she was too excited about getting to battle train at all. She loved fighting, she didn't have to wait for stuff to happen, it all went down in the blink of an eye. "Foxpaw, are you listening?" questioned Quailspring. "'Yes, of course" replied Foxpaw, breaking out of her trance. "What did I just say then?" he quizzed. "Uh, something about balance?" she guessed. "Yes, good job," he mewed in surprise, before continuing his lesson. It'd be nice if we had a sparring partner for her, he thought.

"Today we're going to focus on water battle techniques. If our territory ever floods, or if you get need to fight near water, water fighting can come in handy. It also allows for more options when hunting," Quailspring instructed. "You need to make sure you're dug into the creek bed when you battle, if you fall down, it can mean the loss of a battle, a catch, or even a life. You also need to learn how to move quickly in water, an inexperienced enemy won't know what hit them if you're bouncing around while they sink into the mud." Foxpaw nodded her head eagerly, waiting for Quailspring to say the magic words. "Okay, now let's get in the water." Foxpaw jumped right into the stream and dug her claws into the mud beneath her, "Am I balanced enough, I feel like I'm getting swept away," she mewed with concern. "Yes, that's the current, you need to adjust how you move to go along with it," he advised. "Once you feel ready, we can actually battle, but make sure you're totally balanced first."

"Yeah, I guess so," he grunted. "I probably won't be able to teach you as well as Snowdance, though. Let's stick with just birds and mice because you already sort of know how to hunt those." Riverpaw padded towards another bush and crouched down. "Okay, I think maybe you should just try to scare the prey in my direction again, since you're so inexperienced. I'll signal you when I find some prey, alright?" he whispered.
