Feathersneeze w/ Cedarpaw, Antpaw & Nightweaver - - [ Camp ]
So much for battle practice at the moment. At the sound of Nightweaver's voice, the Feathersneeze's ears perked and and she whirled around to face the leader. The small she-cat blinked, recognizing the tom and, and gave a grin grin. "Oh Nightweaver! Hey there!" she chirped. "Nice to see you come by." She looked at Antpaw for a moment and flicked her tail, indicating the apprentice. "Nothing much really. I was just about to spar with Antpaw here. We got bored," she giggled. "And couldn't find much else to do."

Leaftumble & Owlcrest - - [ Riverside ]
The small tom gave a halfhearted chuckle. "Heh yeah, sorry about that Owlcrest." Leaftumble replied apologetically. He gave his chest a few quick licks in embarrassment. It was just the mystic for crying out loud. There was no reason for him to feel awkward in front of him. Oh why couldn't he be more comfortable around others like a normal cat? Alas the strange tale of poor Leaftumble wouldn't seem to have a good ending. For now, he would just have to deal with whatever he was going through right now. He knew that Owlcrest was trying to ease him of his worries, but he still couldn't help but feel guilty. "I know, but I should have at least noticed—" Leaftumble cut himself short there, realizing it would be pointless to continue on like he was with him. The young warrior gave a small sigh, as if in defeat, and tried focusing his attention on something else. "So I see you're collecting some rocks?" he meowed, his green eyes looking over to the stones that Owlcrest had gathered. "What are you gathering them for?" He blinked for a moment, then suddenly realized how silly that question was. Gah mousebrain, you know Owlcrest likes to collect those kinds of stuff. Stop stating the obvious! Leaftumble scolded himself, immediately feeling as awkward as he did in the beginning. It seemed that the cycle made it's loops all over again.

CLAN ANNOUNCEMENTStarting tomorrow, I will be flying to Japan to study abroad for six months. Do not fear! I still plan on being plenty active but this weekend will be quite busy with placement tests and orientations and such. However, my hours of activity will be different because of the time zones. As always, please listen to my mods if I am not here and I trust their judgement should you have any questions or concerns. In the meantime, here is the poll for the second deputy position! A lot of characters weren't eligible because of age but I think we have some good candidates. Deputy Poll

{ Copperslash, Geistpaw > Duckpaw, Galerush }
Copperslash sneered at Galerush's words. There was nothing particularly wrong with what he said--in fact, the shady man agreed with him--however, the bossy attitude was getting quite old. Eyes glinting, his annoyed snarl turned into a smirk. He would reclaim some say on this patrol. "That's too easy." The words fell out of his mouth simply. He took a few steps forward in Geistpaw's direction. The she-cat felt like a piece of paper, and looked rather dazed before Galerush righted her. Now her eyes burned with such horrible hatred that Copperslash almost admired her. "We should follow each other's apprentice. It would be better to be... constructively critical that way."

alright cool! i'm not sure they'll like each other though hahaha}}
Leopardbite, just before pouncing on her prey, caught another scent. Accidentally stepping on a twig as she tried to make out what it was, the vole had noticed her and quickly scurried away. "Mouse-dung!" She cursed, whipping around to face whoever had distracted her. Stomping through the trees, she saw Honeythroat walking in the forest. Hissing to herself, she ran up to speak to her. "What are you doing out here? You're scent distracted me and made me lose my prey!"

They do xD But that should make their interactions interesting c:< }}
Leopardbite narrowed her eyes at the she-cat. She knew about Honeythroat, and her unwillingness to do regular clan duties, such as hunting or fighting. She had a natural dislike towards the older warrior, but tried to not let that get in the way of a possible acquaintanceship. But, already, her matter-of-fact tone was making Leopardbites fur bristle slightly. "You could have at least made an effort to realize that some of us actually hunt for the clan." She said, giving a scoff after she finished her sentence. She had a cold and disdainful tone to her voice, one that showed Leopardbites feelings of being superior. Her mood had already been ruined by Pearpaw, and now she had no temper left.
Honeythroats accusation almost made the golden she-cat laugh out loud. "It's not really any of your business, but I sent her to collect moss." She said, mocking the other she-cats matter-of-fact tone that she had used just a moment ago. "And who are you to tell me how to mentor my apprentice?" She asked, referring to the fact that Honeythroat didn't have an apprentice of her own.

Leaftumble & Owlcrest - - [ Riverside ]
"Oh." The tom replied simply, blinking. Leaftumble was at a loss of words for what to reply there. Luckily, he managed to gain his composure again and didn't fall into another sinkhole of awkwardness. What he said next however, came a surprise to himself. Before he ever knew it, the young warrior blurted out, "Do you think you could read my fortune?" He quickly snapped his muzzle shut, as if he said something horrible. What was he thinking? Owlcrest probably didn't have the time to see his silly little future. He was probably too busy. "O-or maybe not," he quickly added, trying to recover. "You're probably very busy and don't even have everything you need and you probably wouldn't want to look into my future because it just seems horrible for me haha...ha..." The small tabby tom drifted off with an awkward laugh. Well, things seemed to be going downhill now. Time to find something distracting. He cleared his throat and manage to ask, "You, um, need help with anything Owlcrest?" = = =
[[ I feel so bad for poor Leaftumble. Why must I make my characters suffer like this? XD ]]

i didn't even know there were secret ranks, i was so confused there for a second omgg }}
Leopardbite rolled her eyes. "Concerned?" She meowed, giving a fake shocked reaction. "Yeah, sure." Disbelief was painted on her face, if it wasn't already given away by her mocking tone. In no universe did Leopardbite believe she was actually concerned. With the way she threw out the accusation, her claim of being concerned meant nothing to the spotted she-cat. She had to stop herself from sliding out her claws, knowing that would only bring more trouble than it'd be worth. Instead, she flexed her toes into the ground as she spoke. "I never said you don't hunt." Although she knew she implied it, she knew it held at least a little truth. "But you definitely don't contribute as much as most of us."

... ↪ • Honeythroat | Shrouded Forest w/ Leopardbite This time Honeythroat failed to stifle her reaction. It was a jaw-dropped aghast face that morphed into a pout. She raised a paw to her chest with a sniff. "I do plenty for my clan!" she retaliated, already sore from Leopardbite not believing her concern. The sarcasm was thick with that one, and you'd think Honeythroat would be used to sarcasm because it was her son Duckpaw's entire being.
Now that she rested a glare of narrowed caramel-colored eyes at Leopardbite, the white-and-blonde she-cat realized how inaccurate her defense was. Honeythroat kind of got a pass from most patrols, with her sister being one of the deputies and everything. She didn't have to go out and contribute so much. Mossfreckle didn't really do much of hunting either, so what was the big deal?
Though her sibling was in hot water with some warriors for hardly placing herself on hunting patrols. Perhaps Leopardbite had a right to be upset with Honeythroat now for being just the same, but that didn't give the younger she-cat the right to be sassing her so much this early afternoon. Her contribution was her sons, and they would be great warriors for the clan.
"I never meant to keep you from your hunt and I don't appreciate feeling so attacked," Honeythroat gave a sappy whine and let her eyelids falter half-way to give her a more hopeless and crest-fallen look. By attack she meant vocally, though if she had to go toe-to-toe in a cat-fight with Leopardbite...well, she'd probably lose horribly and cry about how unappealing and disheveled it would have made her appear afterwards.

• Owlcrest | Riverside w/ Leaftumble Of course Owlcrest didn't mind being asked for a fortune. It was his additional job on top of being a warrior, and honestly it was always interesting to figure out more about his clanmates. That's the reason he learned to become a Mystic in the first place, because he already eavesdropped enough in his young apprentice days. He could make anyone believe anything.
When Leaftumble's request faltered due to his anxiety, the Bengal tom sighed. He wiped at his nose with the back of his paw and gave a sniffle and a flick of his ear. "I wouldn't mind. It's no burden," Owlcrest reassured as if he could read Leaftumble's mind and know his worries. He wouldn't pressure him though, especially if he were offering assistance.
"However, if you'd like to join me on a walk to the Prism Pool, you can help me get the best-looking stones. Perhaps we could practice a fortune once we're there if you happen to change your mind," the wise tom said softly but sternly with a lot of heart. Owlcrest by no means wanted Leaftumble to feel obligated though. "I can do it alone if you'd rather stay, and then I can just meet you at the camp if you make a decision."

Bluebird - shrouded forest - - }
Voices. Two of them, to be specific. It sounded like there was bickering not too far away from his position where he was sitting in an oak tree. Sometimes Bluebird wondered what Clan life was like, but that wonder was always one to dissipate quickly. He was content with his life right now and if he wanted to change things up, he could do so in a flash. It didn't take much for an outsider like him to make his own decisions. Focusing on the voices below, his large, pointed ears pricked up eagerly to hear what the feminine voices below were saying. Their tones didn't sound one bit friendly as if the two didn't get along. He knew that the situation was none of his business, but still-- the tom wanted to know what this ridiculous bickering was over. Prey, maybe? What about another cat? They didn't look related at all.. The feline's focus was diverted by the sound of his stomach grumbling loudly as if it knew that he shouldn't be eavesdropping. Letting out a dramatic sigh, Bluebird leapt out of the oak tree, paws landing squarely on the forest floor. Maybe a small hunt would do him some good.. Or he could sneak up on the two clan cats and get closer to eavesdrop some more. Making this decision would be the only important one he'd need to make today which meant the blue-grey tom would have to be careful.

This time, Leopardbite didn't hold back her laughter. Honeythroat? Doing plenty for the clan? To this angry she-cat, there wasn't much more to clan life than hunting and fighting. It was an ignorant way to think, but that's all her mentor had taught her. "Plenty?" She meowed, still chuckling. "As in what? Grooming your fur to look pretty for all the toms?" With a growl, she continued. "Not all of us have kin as the deputy, and can get away with lazying around in camp." At this rate, it wouldn't be much longer before her short-temper was completely run out. She knew she'd have to cut this 'conversation' short soon, but something inside her felt the need to continue on and prove something. What that something was, not even she really knew.
Leopardbite rolled her eyes in exasperation, her internal fire still building. She'd never had much interaction with the light colored she-cat before, but already she was growing to hate her. Leopardbite had such strong emotions about everything, including other cats. There were only a few cats in the clan that she could truly stand, and even they could sometimes get on her nerves. "Playing the victim now, are we?" With a flick of her tail, she got ready to end the confrontation if she had nothing left to say.

... ↪ • Honeythroat | Shrouded Forest w/ Leopardbite, Bluebird What was wrong with Leopardbite's cut-throat statements was that they were true and the white-and-blonde cat didn't like it. She was right and now Honeythroat couldn't even think of a good defensive excuse anymore. The other warrior just had to point out how 'victimized' she was acting. To save her own skin she had to do her best to hold back the waterworks and keep puffing out her chest. Maybe there was something she could do.
"If you weren't so involved with yourself and your own ideals, you'd know there's more to me than that," she sighed, but Honeythroat wasn't so convinced herself. The she-cat was unbeknownst to the presence of the eavesdropping tom at first, but for a loner to be close enough to hear them meant his scent would have made it to their noses eventually and it appeared that she'd caught the smell. A swift breeze had not been on an outsider's side to hide his presence, but he could always run.
"Since you seem to catch the scent of cats more than prey...do you sense something nearby, too?" Honeythroat had tried to taunt, but ultimately she just wanted confirmation from the other warrior. While her chest deflated, she hunched inwardly and shifted her eyes back-and-forth in caution. Being in potential danger with a clanmate that clearly didn't like her was an incredibly unsettling feeling. The scruffy she-cat's fluffy tail was halted low and close to curling between her legs.

Leopardbite was seeming to calm down, taking the cat in front of her as more of a joke, and felt the arguing was just getting pointless. Her eyes that were filled with anger a moment ago, seemed to be returning to their normal golden state, and her recently lashing tail was now stilled and looked as if it had no life to it. She still hated the fact that she got away with being unproductive, while others like her didn't have that option. Not that she would if she did have the option, but it still angered her. Or maybe she would take a little advantage of it.
The spotted cat blinked at Honeythroat. "More? To y-" She was cut off by her next sentence. Opening her mouth and tasting the air, she nodded. "Yes, I do. And it doesn't smell like anyone from Astralclan." She ended her remark with a loud hiss, as if daring the stranger to come out. Whipping around, she looked into the forest. Quickly, before calling out to the cat, she turned her head towards Honeythroat and meowed, "But don't worry. Since we all know you're of little help in a fight, I'll protect your 'good looks.' Although I know I won't get any gratitude."

B L U E B I R D - Shrouded Forest with Honeythroat & Leopardbite
Stupid. Stupid, stupid, stupid! He shouldn't have moved from his spot in the oak tree, where he was up high and no cat from below could have scented him unless they looked up and scanned the trees hard enough to catch sight of Bluebird. He couldn't move any close now; they'd spot him for sure. Blending in the already dark forest was hard enough, but trying to not be scented? That was impossible or at least it was for him at this point. Gulping nervously, the tom pressed his lanky figure against a pine tree, the needles falling down on his silky fur. Just great, they'll see the pine needles fall if I move any more, he thought, groaning in frustration inwardly.
One of the felines called out.. to him. Why? Why would they risk such a thing at a time like this? The fact that this cat seemed more powerful than the other only worried Bluebird as he imagined the things that could happen. Even her words were intimidating and that was one thing he didn't want to deal with right now. He didn't want to find, he was only hoping for a small mouse, maybe a scrawny one at that. Doing his best to not reveal himself, he crept around the side of the pine tree, blinking his green eyes uncontrollably. He could do this. He could get away and not have to deal with these two she-cats, who would probably bicker until the end of time. His long, fluffy tail swayed behind him worriedly before he realized there was a twig.. beneath his paw.
It was too late; the sound of it snapping struck Bluebird's ears as it started ringing continuously throughout his head. Oh, for the love of.. Unsure of what to do and stricken with anxiety, the misty blue-grey tomcat fell silent and went as still as a statue. This could benefit him, right? Maybe they'd assume he wasn't there.. that the noise they heard was from something else, like a badger. Yeah, a badger! What a great idea, he thought to himself sarcastically.
Whatever his next move may be, Bluebird was sure that he wasn't going to be able to avoid the clan cats now; he'd ruin his chances already by leaving that tree and then the twig snapping.. He was done for.
