Dragonfire headed towards Scorpionshade. He gave his brother a friendly nudge before sitting next to him. Most cats found it odd when they said they were brothers because the two toms looked completely different. They grew up together and Dragonfire would get rather defensive if anyone said that the other cat was not his brother. Scorpionshade looked at his brother and gave a slight nod.

Heatherwind headed inside, she didn't dare run or else with her luck she'd trip over the metal tracks the twolegs had placed down. Instead, her pace was swift with purpose. Once they reached camp, she headed straight for Dawnstar who sat in the middle grooming her fur down. The leader glanced up. "What happened?" Heatherwind looked behind her for Opalshine to explain, she found the signs after all

Tigerjade and Shadowmoss looked at eachother and glanced back towards camp.
"I don't think it was that big of a deal.. I mean like the moose isn't going to purposely go after a cat, right?" Shadowmoss's bright green eyes shifted to his sister for an answer.
Tigerjade shrugged non-chalantly. "A moose can be quite aggressive so they could." She began to wash her paw. "If they need help retrieving the prey, then we should go with them."

Opalshine padded up next to Heatherwind and shifted nervously. "What had happened Dawnstar is that I was out hunting with Berrypelt when I came across the scent of moose. I didn't want to beleive it at the time so I went back to Berrypelt. Once I smelled it again but stronger, there was no other choice but to investigate. The moose are here Dawnstar. It's starting early this year." Opalshine said quietly, still fidgeting slightly. She had never spoken directly to the leader before today.

Dawnstar's eyes widened. "Truly?" She frowned. "I....see. Have you scented any pack nearby?" Heatherwind shook her head. Dawnstar nodded slowly. "Just because the moose are early doesn't mean the wolves will be...."
"But, if the moose are early, wouldn't the goats be as well? And then..." Heatherwind trailed off and Dawnstar nodded grimly.
"Let's hope that's not the case." She sighed. "Either way, we will begin usual protocol. No cat goes out without a partner and apprentices train in pairs until the season passes." Her ears twitched. "I can imagine you left your prey out there?" Heatherwind nodded. "Go get it. Look for more signs. A loan moose doesn't mean they're all coming, but if you find more come straight back." With that said, the leader turned and headed down the tunnel, no doubt to the Celestial Spring. Although Starclan couldn't tell them everything, at least they would have some idea.
Heatherwind turned back to the patrol. "Should we split up?" She glanced back towards the entrance. "And we can grab Tigerjade and Shadowmoss on the way out."

"That seems like a good idea Heatherwind. Berrypelt and I just started hunting when I scented moose so I wasn't able to catch any prey. I'm assuming that you and Crowstorm had caught prey?" Opalshine asked, her ear twitching slightly. She had hoped that she was wrong in thinking that they would come early that season.

Heatherwind nodded. "Yea. We both probably buried ours in different places. Maybe you and Shadowmoss come with me and we can keep an eye out on the way while Crowstorm does the same with Berrypelt and Tigerjade?"

Scorpionshade looked around before he stretched out. He padded slowly to his brother and gave a nod before sitting down "we should talk to Dawnstar soon about going on more patrols. We will need experienced cats out there leading." He mumbled. Dragonfire gave a nod "plus the apprentices will need to be extra careful."

Scorpionshade padded over "I'll do anything I can to help" the large tom said. He looked down at the other cat then gave his fur a slight shake. He blinked then turned his gaze across the other cats thoughtfully. His tail swayed back and forth slowly.

Scorpionshade nodded towards Opalshine then he flicked his tail "we'll be alright as long as we are cautious" he said simply. He would do anything to protect his clan although some of the cats confused him with their odd behaviors but he loved all of them the same even the two antisocial apprentices.

Scorpionshade gave a nod "I would imagine a cat that is a good leader and is calm in bad situations. Hopefully a cat that knows what they are doing" he said simply. In all honesty he had no clue who would do it. His brother might have a chance but some cats questioned Dragonfires loyalty and he was still rather joking about things so he wasn't quite sure
