Dragonfire touched his nose to her cheek "so mighty leader what are we leaving for? Some mysterious mission that you need a strong warrior such as myself to protect you?" He said, pudding his chest out.

Dawnstar rolled her eyes. "You would like that, wouldn't you? No. It's just the usual patroling. Catch whatever prey we can." She shrugged. "What have you been doing all day?"

Dragonfire flicked the top of his tail "Scorpionshade woke me up bright and early to help out. He says the earlier we wake up the better next thing you know he'll have me getting up at moonhigh" the toms ears twitched slightly in amusement. His brother was a loyal cat and he truly loved him but sometimes the other warrior could be a bit too loyal and dedicated.

Dawnstar purred. Thoughts slowly drifted the her nonexistent deputy. She certainly didn't want Scorpionshade waking every cat up early... "I'm not surprised honestly."

Dragonfires mind drifted to his brother "he thinks if I show more loyalty the cats will trust me more. He knows some o the cats question my loyalty. He's a good brother for trying to help."

"There is nothing to question." Dawnstar shook her head fiercely. As they stepped out of the caves, the light caught their pelts and she purred. Perhaps it sounded vain, but she had always enjoyed the sight of their glittering pelt in the sun or moonlight.

Dragonfire purred and stretched out. He looked at the leader and his heart warmed. She didn't question his loyalty and she was his best friend.

Dawnstar pressed against him, purring happily. A scent caught her attention then and she followed it cautiously until she spotted a mouse. Whiskers twitched, she dropped into her hunter's crouch and slid forward. Once at a good distance, she pounced and dragged the prey back to her to give it a swift death. She thanked Starclan for its life.

Dragonfire watched her carefully and when she caught the mouse he let out a purr "wonderful catch" he said happily.

Dawnstar frowned and glanced around. "Hm..." She headed for the streams. "So, have you thought anymore about taking a mate?" She glanced towards him curiously. The tribe hasn't had kits in a while and she knew all too well how popular Dragonfire was. Not that she was paying much attention or anything...

Dragonfire glanced at her and his ears grew slightly hot "only one she-cat has really caught my attention." He said glancing at his paws. He then licked down his chest fur nervously.

Dawnstar seemed startled by this. "What's not to like?" She padded towards him. "You're so amazing. You're strong, and kind, and loyal, and smart...." She trailed off as she realized what she was saying and she felt her pelt heat up from embarrassment.

Dragonfire lifted himself up "then I suppose I should go through the Path of Love but I'd like to ask first." He nudged the she-cat "Dawnstar" he stood up straight and held himself with confidence "would you like to be my mate?"
