"Maybe.." Opalshine murmured before huffing quietly "TORNSHADE!" She barked out, watching with some satisfaction as her brother jumped slightly at his sister's voice. "You better have done something for the tribe if you're planning on touching the fresh kill pile!!" She continued to scold him, making him sheepishly turn towards the two she cats.

Yellowstrike noticed the shift in mood, and smiled.
"I do, Rubypaw. Not a day passes, where I dont miss her. I know I was lucky, but she also told me, before she left, to take care of all cats younger than me. We are all needed to keep each other safe, so never doubt the strength of our tribe."

"I was uh..." Tornshade stumbled on his words, looking like a startled rabbit. "Doing nothing I see" Opalshine cut in with a playful glare at the tom. "Well.... if you put it that way" he ended up mumbling out. Opalshine smiled slightly and glanced around, looking for Berrypelt.

Yellowstrike smiled and patted Rubypaw's head with her tail once more.
"Rubypaw, it is not the mother we need to remember, but more, the care and kindness any cat shows towards us. Do you understand?" Knowing how confusing words could be, Yellowstrike simply opted for softly nuzzling the apprentice to show a soft care for Rubypaw, from an older cat to an apprentice.

Rubypaw leaned into the nuzzle, her eyes closing softly in bliss. When she realized what she was doing, Rubypaw hastily pulled away with flattened ears.
"I.. Er... Yes Heatherwind.. Opalshine" Tornshade admitted with a slight grumble. He admitted defeat this time for now.

Scorpionshade looked around the tribe as he stretched. He looked around carefully before wondering what all the cats were doing as he gave a gentle purr at the thought of the cats he lived his every day life with. They were all such amazing cats.

Puddlepaw was running and bouncing around, much to the very small annoyance of his brother Quartzpaw. The two were trying to plan out a strategy, that involved them working together to topple a cat, but they had no one to practice it with.

"I'm not sure who would be deputy. Someone with an apprentice though for sure." Tornshade mumbled, staring longingly for a certain plump mouse. Opalshine just huffed and batted the mouse at his head. A small squeak left Tornshade's lips and he grinned at the sight of the mouse.

Rubypaw let out a small keh at Yellowstrike's smile and looked away. She noticed the unease in the clan and turned back to the old warrior "Why are others so afraid of Newleaf?" She asked, confusion in her blue eyes. She came to them as a kit at the end of Newleaf and the beginning of Greenleaf so she was confused at the unrest in the clan.

"Because of a pack. They seem to come around every Newleaf, and I dont want you out there without me, your mentor, or a warrior, alright? No cat is to be alone." Yellowstrike worried for Rubypaw, it was obvious.

"Wolves. Scarier than dogs, and easily able to rip even an experienced warrior like ME to pieces. This is why I dont want you traveling alone, Rubypaw. Okay?" Yellowstrike almost spoke like a mom, but she would say it to any apprentice. She feared for small cats, almost TOO much sometimes.

Rubypaw felt a pang in her heart at the affectionate way Yellowstrike talked to her and had to glance away. The fear, hurt and longing was clear in her eyes for a moment before they were hidden once more.
